October
Now that the risk of ground frost is increasing, it’s time to lift all the
plants and bulbs that won’t survive a winter if left undisturbed. Dahlias can be
trimmed off and lifted. Then let them dry on a piece of newspaper, put them in a
box, and store in a dark, frost-free
place.
Wrap up frost-sensitive tub plants in blister padding and store them in a frost-free shed, garage or other storage area.
Note: some plants like to receive at least some water during the winter.
